See you in HEaven...
Ladies and gentlemen...This here is a sheep's heart...very very similar to a human's.

Now heres what the heart looks like when it is cut open. Notice those tendons on the heart? Those are chordae tendinae. They are cord-like tendons that connect the papillary muscles to the tricuspid valve and the mitral valve in the heart.
When the right ventricle
of the heart contracts, the blood pressure pushes the tricuspid valve which closes and prevents a backflow of blood into the right atrium. The chordae tendineae prevents the flaps from being everted into the right atrium. Similarly, these cord-like tendons hold in position other flaps like the bicuspid or mitral valve.Notice the straw at the bottom pic? Its pushed through the inferior vena cava to the pulmonary veins. Ooo and some people even thought it was for drinking? Yea sure i would lyk a cup of heart juice please?
This practical is a rather hands on approach towards the learning of biology and its good that we get to see parts of the heart for ourselves. Its lyk a million times better than studying it from a book.
Anyway that was few days ago on thurs. Besides did i fail to mention that i played one DOTA game after what seems to be an eternity (hey 2 long months can be an eternity u noe) and though i started out bad, i wont the game. I'm glad i havent lost my skill yet.
As for just now, i went for the Haven concert which was a lot better than last year's FOA. Since a picture is a thousand words, i'd leave you with images and captions to show you how my evening went.
