The best way?
A continuation from my previous post when i stated that the usual way does not always equal to the best way...
Compare teachers of the past to teachers of the present. During my parents' and grandparents' time, teachers took delight in bullying students sadistically. They used wrong teaching methods like force students to point at every letter as they read aloud in the class. Teachers then love using physical violence and caning their students whenever possible...
People have come to accept it then...It has been the usual way...It managed to work out, teachers could impart knowledge of the subject into the students and students were obedient, but is it the best way? No...many ended up studying based on fear of the teacher and thus ended up doing badly in the exams.
Nowadays teachers do not use physical violence on students anymore. They usually use fun teaching methods by giving facts not in the syllabus but related to the topic to liven up the lesson and make it more interesting. Teachers also socialise more with the students. I also do not believe this is the best way given how many students keep disrupting the class...But students study more based on interest nowadays, thus the grades improved...
For those who study history, you'd know that Tsarist rule in Russia lasted for 400 years...The Tsars ruled Russia with absolute power, suppressed all opposition, killing and exiling those who dared to oppose their rule. It has been the usual way and many people have come to accept it...But is it the best way? Eventually the people were unhappy and thus started a rebellion.
For those who study biology, you'd know that organisms need to evolve to meet the changes. If they'd stay where they are and not change according to the environment, following their usual way, they'd be wiped out. The rule is this "Adapt or go extinct"...Look at bacteria, those who do not evolve get wiped out by antibiotics, those who had followed the usual way and not see that there is a best way. Heh even microorganisms can think...
Thus, the only way is to go up...The usual way is never good enough...There is always a better way for everything...and eventually as we follow the path upwards consistently, we'll come to realise that the best is never enough for the Best is Yet to Be...
