Reason Over Emotion

I'm glad that yesterday afternoon at around 1 to 1.30pm, I could control my emotions with reasoning.

But I think that's a great leap forward!

Super Saturday

This is super saturday. There's st nicks funfair, fun-o-rama, centrestage, st margs campfire, and perhaps many more I don't know about.

I'll be busy from 10am onwards until nighttime.

Hectic Week

This has indeed been one hectic week. I didnt really get a chance to play dota. I didnt get a chance to shoot. I didnt get a chance to do a lot of stuff. Dont ask.

From little annoyances to old hatreds, it has indeed been one temperamental week. Dont ask.

The veterans are again incomplete. Dont ask.

I was rather switch off this week. Dont ask.

Thank God its Friday. Dont ask.

Whatever it is, just dont ask me anything. I doubt i'll reply you. You'll be lucky if you can even get a "no" from me. Dont ask.

Major Annoyance

We all know that it is annoying when u put in sufficient amount of work and get scolded for not putting in super duper amount of work.

However it is more annoying when you feel that you've put in super duper amount of work and when others feel that you've put in insufficient amount of work and then expect you to put in sufficient amount of work.

Yes that's a major annoyance which pretty much sums up the bad things I feel this afternoon.

Scrap the last post. I'm happy now! Clan ToV is back in action today. The Clan ToV team is finally complete and now we will own all!

Got one beyond godlike for slardar today. Quite happy. I wanna try getting beyond godlikes for many more heroes!

Emotion over Reason

My past few DOTA games depict how emotion takes over reason.

I felt very awkward. Usually I wouldn't mind if people ks (kill steal) me. I dun really care unless it causes more harm than benefits to the team. For example, if I'm using some intel hero I won't mind if a late game hero steals all my kills. However, what makes me angry is when ksing is done on purpose and does not serve to help the team at all in any way.

For example, during a game just now, a shadowfiend user kept using his requiem of souls to ks my kills. Then when requiem of souls was actually needed on a whole group of people, it just wasn't used cos it was on cooldown. See what I mean.

Later in one game I had nearly 20 assists. Guess how many kills I had? Only 4...Yes...How pitiful. The person did not even say sorry for stealing every single one of my kills. All he did is boast that he's the top fragger. Now can I boast for having the most number of assists? Yea go tell everyone that you are THE TOP ASSISTANT. Lol see what I mean, it doesn't seem nice even to yourself.

Well, then in the next few games I just get super angry over small things such as a mere accidental ks and just custom kick the person who did that. I know that by custom kicking I end up wasting people's time spent in the game but I was angry. This anger was further aggrevated when my friend could not play with me due to his brother switching off the router in his room and locking the door.

If you come to think of it, we humans are more emotional beings than logical beings. We get all tensed up and emotional whenever our principles get challenged and we fail to use logic to reason our way out. Have you met people who could actually reason their way out whenever they are angered by their beliefs being challenged.

Suppose someone insults your girlfriend. Do you go "logically speaking your insult is not applicable because she cannot be a female dog as she is a human being and she does not engage in sexual intercourse for money" or do you go "(Insert verb here) YOU, YOU (Insert noun here), GO AND (Insert verb here) YOUR (Insert noun here)!"

Many people would choose the latter. I think I would too. I'm more of an emotional being...

Mild Satisfaction

Obama has been winning again. Recently he had won the Mississippi primary. At this rate, I believe he might become the candidate nominated to represent the democratic party. Eventually, I hope he becomes President. Change is coming to this world.

I've managed to collect $60 for jobweek. Pretty good especially due to the fact that I didnt really top up my own card. I'm quite impressed actually. Besides, it actually feels a little better bringing 2 year1s out to do jobweek with you.

Over the course of my life, I'm really satisfied that I'm not really a hypocrite. It's pretty easy for me since all I do is be myself. When others try to put you down just for the mere fact of being who you are, I tend to ignore them. Really, there's no point pretending to be someone you're not. If your normal is weird to others, then let it be. Why should you pretend to be who you are not just to make others happy.

Yes, I'm still quite happy with recruits camp. This sec3 batch has the potential to bring the standard back up to minyang's batch's level. Good news for all scouts.

Congrats to dominic for passing his CCA prelim. Now there's basically only two more obstacles for him till he gets his CCA.

Congrats to me for finding something to update on and to ToV for basically owning almost every public team in DOTA. Well almost. Lol.

Recruits Camp 2008

This year's recruits camp was a big success. The best one I've been to from secondary 1 to now. I was even saying to myself,"WHY SCOUTS SUDDENLY SO FUN?!"

Anyway the year3 PLC this year is really impressive. Let me tell you, this batch is just like my batch. This batch may lack in skill but overcomes it with unity and efficiency. My batch has skill but like I said before, a batch of hypocrites which = no unity.

This camp was so fun, waterbombs, egg throwing, night games, etc. How I wish I were in sec1 this year.

Anyway I wont really cover the whole camp thoroughly, but I tell you I initially wanted to go for recruits camp just to chalk up CAS hours, thats all. I didnt expect it to be so good. I even decided to stay overnight on the second day when I initially planned on going home on the second night.

I now know what it feels like to be proud to be a venture. Someone told me that recruits camp has a double meaning. It can either mean a camp for the new sec1s or it can mean a camp for the recruit sec3 PLs.

The sec3 PLs are really great. I'm gonna look forward to more camps run by them. I'll be there...

A New Strength Realised

A friend of mine raised a point that I have the strength to love people who have hurt me, whether physically or emotionally or both. Well, I believe that it's one tiny step towards becoming more like Jesus Christ. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step right?

Someone special once told me that even if some insensitive person hurts you without understanding the problem(s) he/she is putting you through, it is still not fair for you to get angry with that person. Why? I believe that it is due to you having more experience in life and thus more mature in thinking which enables you to understand what others do not.

Therefore, I would usually say that I don't hate anyone in this world. If you have to resort to hating something, do not hate any particular person. Instead, hate the sinful and problematic things that the particular person does. Everybody in this world is made perfect in the eyes of God. It is sin that makes us imperfect. To hate or to insult anybody would be to hate one of God's perfect creations.

I would like to pray that everyone in this world will be able to receive the gift of being able to love those who hurt them. Only then will the world be a better place to live in.

Unlucky...Unhappy...Unsatisfied...

I was quite unhappy over yesterday's events and to make things worse, why did Clinton have to win Texas and Ohio?

The world is coming to an end. I define end as the end of all intelligence of humans. Not that I'm saying that I see myself as someone superior in intellect, but hey lets face the facts, I'm definitely more intelligent than a great number of people.

You see, we need people who have foresight. Obama had opposed the Iraq War right from the start, knowing the consequences it would bring out beforehand. Yes, the person who always considers something many times before doing it. Clinton on the other hand has not much foresight and agreed with the Iraq War there and then. Now it is kind of obvious that Clinton disagrees with the Iraq War, but it is too late as there is no foresight.

Even around me, people are also degrading in intelligence. No I don't refer to intelligence as superior skill in studying but intelligence in my own definition is the person who has the most knowledge of life itself and can manipulate this form of knowledge very well.

Just now, somebody tried to accuse me of something I did not do. That is quite stupid as he even failed to give a basis for his accusation. I mean like come on, you wanna blame others for something, AT LEAST HAVE THAT SOMETHING TO BLAME THEM FOR LOL!!

Be Prepared

In life, nothing can be guarenteed. In fact, something really bad happened to me just now which I won't mention here. Some of you may know, some of you may not. For those who already know, good for you if you were one of those who tried to find out what happened and ummm...you get the point. Bad if you were one of those who added to my frustration.

Let me be honest, I'm not prepared for everything. No matter how prepared I am, there'll always be somethings I can never predict and hence never be prepared enough for.

I have a friend who has been really good in his studies. He was even top in class for secondary 3. A promising candidate to get near 9 A1s for O levels. Eventually he got 11 points which is not so bad. Raw score of 11 and net score of 7 points. He got posted to an instituition not of his choice and calibre. I was totally shocked. How could they do this to him. I also asked whether there was even a "they" out there doing something.

Nothing is forever, all good things have to come to an end eventually, whether it's just due to time running out or due to some absurd reason. Things change. People change. You change without even knowing it.

Thank God that he is everlasting and never changes. I always put my trust and faith in Him and eventually something good happens.

I dont like it when people say that God does not exist. They might as well say that everything in the universe doesnt exist. Did you realise that everything all boils down to faith. You exist only because you have faith that you exist. For all we know, we could be brains plugged into some machine and living in a world of virtual reality. Like the matrix eh? Hmm...Lolz...Faith is complete reliance of something without proof. In fact we cant prove that everything we see in our lives is correct. We only have faith. Thats all.

I must therefore say that I have faith that everything will turn out alright eventually. I have faith that my problem will be solved in a unique yet comfortable manner.

Change of Mind

I decided to delete the previous post.

Just realised that criticising those politicians isnt worth my time...a prevailing of reason over emotion as learnt in ToK.

To all those who have turned my UYO into a political battleground, thanks, you have killed everyone's interest in it...Don't you see the signs? Falling attendance rate, no uniform on the day of founding. My batch had the power to stop all this nonsense, but we were too caught up over our stupid political arguments that make no sense which I also refused to participate in...In the end, all batches from mine onwards suffered greatly. It only takes those 3 ppl...some of you know of whom I speak of...I feel so sad that they're christians and yet act this way.

My faith in Christianity will remain strong but it does begin to make me question a bit, how on earth did those 3 people end up this way? Furthermore, I don't really know what it is to be a scout anymore. With all these politics going on, it feels as though I had joined debate club with dictatorship.

I don't know. I personally don't like politics. I want to go for meetings without such politics but such meetings are few, if any.
